February 2025: Happenings
And just like that, January 2025 is a wrap!
This month, we brought all four products into 14 Sendik's stores in Milwaukee and we're already seeing a lot of excitement and growth there 🙏 (we're actually heading to Milwaukee this week to visit some stores and sling sausage samples so tell your WI-based friends & fam to swing by).
We also exhibited at the Winter Fancy Foods show in Vegas, hosted a pop up at Jungle Boulder, spent a week in California visiting existing stores + new distribution partners, added new stores in NY, CO & IL and much, much more.
The start of the year has been a whirlwind and candidly, a little stressy for our small team 😅. But, it's a good stress (we think) because it means our little sausage biz is growing and these are inevitable growing pains that we're starting to tackle (big emphasis on “starting.)”
Candidly, it's really hard as first time business owners to effectively scale and not miss opportunities due to ego, bandwidth, lack of experience, and mainly, a lot of FEAR of consistently f*ing things up (sorry mom).
We are definitely feeling the heaviness of managing a biz that looks totally different than it did nearly a year ago and grappling with big decisions like how to stay scrappy vs invest in meaningful growth levers, how to make sure we're working with the right partners, what to outsource vs hold close to us, how to not burn out or break up 😅 (jk Chels we can never break up). & the list goes on and on and on - hence the swirl.
At the end of the day, writing a newsletter like this (albeit, it is another task on the to-do list) is a good reminder that this is something we GET to do and we are beyond grateful that despite the strange sausage stress (never thought I'd type that phrase), we GET to do it with all of you.
So thank you, as always, for rolling with the 🌭 nonsense and supporting this community. We are quite lucky. So, with that, on to the next!
